Barybino farm
The Farm:

- Barybino Farms Agro Complex
- Located 60 km south-east of Moscow in the Domodedovsky district of Russia
- They milk 3200 cows (Black and White Holsteins)
- The largest dairy herd in the Russian Federation with the highest productivity of 6800 kg/cow (in 1986 it was 2600 kg/cow)
- For more than 10 years Barybino has cooperated with the Lianozovo Baby Food Dairy
- Also an honored partner of McDonalds from the beginning of their activities in Russia
- Participate in the National Programs "Milk of Moscow area" and "Milk Concept 2010". As a result Russian milk producers will produce all necessary volume of milk to meet European consumer standards

Farm Management:

- The official name of the Farm is Agricultural Production Cooperative "Breeding Plant Barybino"
- All farmers are members of cooperative
- Of 754 employees there are 113 involved in milk production.
- One-third of the staff have secondary specialized or higher education
- Milk production gives 90% of total income
- Decisions are made at different levels:
o Annual meeting of the Cooperative members o Board of the Cooperative o The Director (60%)
- Each employee has a detailed job description which is written in accordance with the Russian Federation Labor Code and Cooperative Code
- Average workload per employee in milk production is 40 animals per person.
- Milkers receive the highest salary in the Moscow region
- The farm has regular Sanitary and Veterinary inspections and reports to a regional ecology committee.
- Two German consulting companies are contracted:
o "Manager Milk" for two years for milk production technology, feeding o "LUB" for animal productivity.

Updated!: 400 of the 3200 milking cows at Barybino Farm Agro Complex are getting the “circular” treatment in the new HBR milking parlor by DeLaval.
This new rotary parlor was opened on a sunny but frosty December 10, 2003.
The farm is still milking 3200 cows. Average milk yield is 7000 kg, 4% fat.
The ribbon cutting ceremony for the new facility was attended by over 130 guests
Cows are milked in a Herringbone Parlour 2x8 (4 pcs), Herringbone Parlour MidiLine (4 pcs) and a EuroParallel 2x12 (1 pcs), UNICALA 220 Comfort with "EasyLine" (1 pcs) and UNICALA Standard 200

For many years Barybino has had the status of a DEMO farm - to promote progressive technologies, educational center for seminars, congresses, expo activities on a regional level and as a launching pad for new DeLaval products for the Russian market
Future:

In four years the farm plans to increase labour productivity two times, milk production to 8000 kg, harvesting to 70-80 ce/ha.
