Bovine biology series
Mike Gangwer Biosystems Engineering Department Ag Technology and Systems Management Farrall Hall Lab 3 Michigan State University East Lansing, MI 48824 517 432-9799 gangwerm@msu.edu
This is a 48 part series about bovine biology. The series depicts dairy animals, specifically organ description, physiology, and function. The latter parts of the series focus on the life cycle, the processes of birth, growth, lactation and then death.
I have written this series for the general audience, although high school and college students may find these articles useful for their study. I wrote this series in 1993-1997. Each individual part is two to four pages in length. The final part, number 48, is a literature review. I have included some of my own anecdotal stories in these articles; they make a point or reinforce an observation.
Thank you. You are about to enter the wonderful world of dairy biology. Welcome!
