A native of the Republic of Macedonia in Europe, Kiro R Petrovski began working with dairy cows at age 11. With a lifelong interest in animals and animal health, he completed his primary, secondary and tertiary education in Macedonia, then graduated from the Veterinary Faculty Skopje in 1997. Following graduation, he worked in a mixed animal practice and a dairy farm in Macedonia until mid 1999 when he moved to New Zealand. He is currently working in the Institute of Veterinary, Animal and Biomedical Sciences, in the dairy cattle medicine and pastoral development department as senior research officer on lactational biology, with priority on mastitis treatment.
