Dr. Bergsten graduated from the Veterinary College of the Swedish University of Agricultural Sciences in 1981. In 1995 he obtained a Ph. D. and completed postdoctoral work at Washington State University. In 1999 he joined the Swedish Department of Animal Environment and Health and is the lameness expert to the national herd-health project at Swedish Milk. He is particularly interested in the influence of housing and management on claw health.
